Aman Hansra

Clinic Owner / Registered Physiotherapist

Born and raised in Fort McMurray, Aman played basketball, rep soccer and swam for the Mantas swim club. After graduating from Westwood Community High School, he moved to England, where he obtained his BSc in Physical Therapy from the University of Salford in 2012 and MSc in Sports Therapy from Leeds Beckett University in 2014. Aman’s passion for Physical Therapy arose from a curiosity in healing sports injuries and treating individuals with chronic shoulder and back pain.

Upon graduating, Aman worked as the Physical Therapist of Wrexham Football Club in the United Kingdom. Through this role, he was responsible for the medical treatment, injury rehabilitation and injury prevention strategies for the first team (which hosted numerous ex premiership players), reserve team and youth team players for Wrexham FC. His work with Wrexham FC lead to two Wembley trips and an FA Trophy win.

In 2016, Aman relocated to Edmonton to be closer to family and to assist patients with skills that he learned through his education and work experience. In his spare time, he continues to both play both basketball and soccer.

Carrie Tam

Registered Physiotherapist

Carrie graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy in 2010 and holds a Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree from the University of British Columbia.

Carrie has an extensive history of being a team trainer for various sports teams, which is what led her to a career in physiotherapy. She has additional training in manual therapy and Women’s Health physiotherapy. She completed the Certificate of Anatomical Acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, and is certified to perform acupuncture.

In her spare time, Carrie is kept busy by her two energetic children and her crazy dog.

Troy Kinash

Reg. Provisional Physiotherapist

Born and raised here in the south side of Edmonton, Troy grew up playing competitive hockey and football. Having been sidelined from playing competitive sports due to multiple injuries, he developed an appreciation and love for sports rehabilitation.

Following this passion, Troy graduated from the University of Alberta with his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.

After taking a year off to train athletes around the city, Troy aspired to further his knowledge of rehabilitation at the University of Alberta’s Masters of Physical Therapy program. Through this program, he worked with and excelled in treating every type of condition. Now graduated with his MScPT, Troy is ready to help you reach any future goals you may have and live a life rid of pain.

Brit Chase

Reg. Provisional Physiotherapist

Brit was born and raised in Sherwood Park and played almost every sport under the sun (and has a special love for basketball).  After graduating from Archbishop Jordan High School in 2010, Brit attended Grant MacEwan University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree.

Although Brit had an 8 year history of coaching, teaching basketball and swimming lessons, she realized her passion for anatomy and movement after taking the 500 hour Modo Hot Yoga teacher training in Nicaragua in 2016!  She moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2017 where she attended and graduated from the University of Melbourne’s Doctor of Physiotherapy program in 2019.  Brit was also able to complete an internship at a sports physiotherapy clinic in Maryland, USA in 2018, and loves to work with athletes to rehabilitate them back to their full athletic potential.

When she isn’t at Aspire or completing her research projects specializing in concussion, her passion for movement has kept her teaching hot yoga classes at Modo Yoga Sherwood Park.  Brit loves to be at the gym… whenever she is not running after her new rescue puppy Chance.

Harman Sekhon

Registered Massage Therapist

Harman graduated from MacEwan University with a BSc in Psychology in 2017 and a massage therapy diploma in 2020. She is certified with 2200 hours and enjoys helping her patients reduce their pain levels and return to the activities that give them joy.

While growing up, she always saw people over-work themselves and experience chronic pain… this was one of the reasons she chose to become an RMT! In her spare time, Harman enjoys cooking (and eating!), travelling and staying active.

Montreal-born and Edmonton-raised, she is happy to call Edmonton and Aspire Physiotherapy home.

Chang Shih

Registered Acupuncturist

Chang has recently joined our team in early 2019, and we very excited to have him on board.

Chang has always played basketball, tennis, and numerous other sports; he has first-hand experience in how quickly and effectively Chinese medical acupuncture helped him recover from various sports injuries such as sprains, strains, and tendinitis.

It was the natural choice to follow his roots to study Chinese Medicine. Chang also uniquely understands the negative impact that modern day life stress can have on our physical health, as he had spent over a decade working as an air traffic controller. It is with this passion that he now practices Traditional Chinese Medical acupuncture, helping people rediscover their health and well-being.
