Sid graduated from the University of Alberta MScPT program in 2017. Prior to this Sid completed his BSc in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, where he was varsity athlete in wrestling and also competed internationally for the Canadian national cricket team.
Sid has always been involved with sports and relishes opportunities to treat sport related injuries. He has experience working with Pandas Hockey in Edmonton for 3 years. He now works with Team Canada Sitting Volleyball team. Sid is highly interested in working with elite level sports and is has completed the Sports Physiotherapist Certification.
Sid has special interest working with knee injuries, specifically ACL injuries. He has extensive training and experience working with orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians in diagnosing and treating ACL injuries at all stages of rehabilitation.
He was one of the physiotherapists that helped run the Acute Knee Injury Clinic (AKIC) at the Glen Sather and also ran the Functional Agility and Strength Training (FAST) class for athletes with ACL injuries.
Sid also has specialized training in vestibular rehab and working with acute concussions in athletes. Furthermore, Sid is certified in functional dry needling and can use this in adjunct to his active treatment approach.
Sid is passionate about providing patient-centered, evidence-based care and help build self-efficacy. Helping patients be able to get back to meaningful activities and perform to their fullest capabilities is what drives Sid as a physiotherapist
Outside of the clinic, Sid likes to stay active playing recreational sports, training for marathon running, and lifting at the gym. He has also picked up skiing recently and is excited to improve his skills on the slopes.
